Gorgeous GeoPfad Trail

We enjoyed a gorgeous hike with friends this weekend!

About 45 minutes from our home, in the town of Gams there is a “GeoVillage.”  We followed a 5K path through the woods and on wooden platforms over and along a gorge with stunning waterfalls!  It was a wonderful trip!

Waterfalls & Cowbells

We enjoyed another gorgeous hike close to home today!

With two of our friends, we went on a 4 hour hike. We started in the Nature Park about 15 minutes from our home. We went to Trefflingfall - a beautiful waterfall - and hiked to the top of a mountain (where the waterfall looks like nothing more than a small creek).  We walked through a meadow and then further up to Hochbärneck mountain. There we climbed a lookout tower and enjoyed stunning views of the Ötscher mountain and the Kartause in the distance! Then we made our way down the mountain to where we had parked in the Nature Park.  We passed many cows along the way. They all wear cowbells that you can hear chiming from a distance. 

It was such a blessing to spend the morning enjoying the beauty all around us!

Maiszinken Family Hike

We hiked up Maiszinken & got to see the Lunz lake—thanks to the lack of clouds this time!

Our First Soccer Season ⚽️

Ellie and Francis are playing soccer! (Called Fußball here :)

They joined the neighboring town’s 8 & under team - where they play mostly with their classmates, including some of the other Kartause kids. 

They’re loving it so far!!

Today they had their first tournament. Only the oldest kids dress for the game - so Ellie did. It was so fun to watch her! And, much to everyone’s surprise, their team won!

Looking forward to the rest of the season!

Mostheuriger on the Danube

Today we enjoyed a beautiful day along the Danube River! 

We biked to our first Mostheuriger (tavern where local winemakers serve their new wine/cider during the growing season) 🚲 🍇🍻
