Isaac’s 3rd Birthday: End of the Terrible Twos?!

Our little rascal Isaac Joseph is 3!!!

This guy sure keeps us on our toes. The week before his birthday he snuck into the garage, got into a brown packing box, found a wrapped gift. Opened it. Tore through the box. Half assembled the new sand truck.  And did #2. All in 10 minutes.

Thankfully it was indeed his present he opened. And thankfully he was wearing a pull-up (potty training is not in full effect these days).

The day before his birthday we made cookies for his party. I gave him a couple, but despite me telling him we needed to save the others for his friends, he helped himself to a couple more.

The morning of his birthday he opened the others presents he had not yet gotten to. His siblings had fun building the LEGO trucks, while he had fun hanging his new longneck dinosaur by the crane.

We had Fr. Stan join us for his birthday lunch and after lunch he got a special birthday blessing. During lunch, Isaac put on his vestments to be like Fr. Stan but then he realized he was wearing his habit. So Isaac changed into his black habit.

Later that afternoon we celebrated with all of the Kartause kids down at the sand volleyball court for a “sand party” with lots of sand toys, trucks, and his new wheelbarrow from NeNe.

Some corona virus restrictions have lifted so gatherings of 10 are allowed. So all the adults had one gathering, while the kids had their own gathering ;) It was a wonderful day to celebrate!

We sure are blessed by our first ginger. While his twos may have had some terrible moments, they also had some really sweet ones! He can be destroying our possessions one moment, and saying Mass on the coffee table the next. Screaming and whining that he needs a new shirt because a drop of water got on it, and then insisting we sing Ave Maria with him.  Trying to bite Clare’s foot, and then running to get her a baby toy. Unraveling rolls of toilet paper or paper towels, and then lining up all his animals so that the babies are with their mommies and daddies. What a rascal!!

We love you, IZ!!!
